Crossing involves taking the pollen grain from the male flower of one plant and transferring it to the female flower parts of a different plant in a controlled environment without the interference of the agent of pollination such as birds, insects, or water.

Developing hybrid seeds is not child play at all, it costs the breeders a lot to make aside from the burden of care with which they are developed, the process has to be repeated and confirmed to arrive at invariant conclusions… which sounds like a case of trial and error.

Hybrid seeds seem to be more expensive than non-hybrid (open-pollinated seed) but they sure are worth it!

They have the ability to adjust better to stress, easier to grow, and produce higher yields, however, some of these seeds are “seedless”, even the ones with seeds may not even germinate talk less of producing another generation.

The purpose is to have desirable and high-performing seeds after combining the qualities of the chosen varieties (parent plants) in terms of color, period of maturity, disease resistance, uniformity, tolerance, and yields. Check www.seedhub.ng for your quality hybrid seeds.
