Raise a Farmer Initiative (RAFI), Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State will host the third edition of the Speak Agriculture for the Future Economy (SAFE) Summit 3.0. SAFE summit is an annual programme organised by RAFI to specifically identify challenges within the vegetable value chains, converge stakeholders within the sub-sector to address those issues by proffering real and practical solutions. Each of these conferences produces strategic implementation and action plans moving forward.
The SAFE Summit 3.0 will among other things address the potentials, possibilities and importance of value addition in vegetables to as a pathway for off taking, profitability and sustainability in the vegetable value chains. This summit will attract national and international audience and speakers who will engage on the future opportunities value addition portends. It will expressly integrate innovation, business opportunities, agro-tourism, export potentials to the production and value addition prospects.
The hybrid operated event is projected to play host to 1,500 stakeholders and participants on-site. The combined audience both on-site and on-line spans through stakeholders within the vegetable sub sector, local institutions within Nigeria including government agencies, regulating agencies, financial institutions, corporate organisations, the Ekiti State Government, farmers, processors, entrepreneurs, organised private sector, media and also international institutions and audience from 25 African countries making it one of the biggest African-wide conference on vegetables.

The event will feature panel sessions from seasoned and experienced panelists and moderators, key note speeches and address, pitch competitions for value added businesses in vegetables, fruits and spices. There would also feature a network session for partnerships and collaborations.
The theme of the one-day summit is Value Addition in Vegetable Value Chains: The sub-Sahara African Prospects.

According to Mayowa Ekundayo, the Convener of the Summit, this year’s theme is critical to the sustainability of food and nutrition security and also serve as a pivot to solve many challenges experienced in the value chain of vegetables, fruits and spices within the sub-Sahara African agricultural eco-system.
